John Rex dies at 86
John Rex, who died on December 18 (2011), will be remembered as a man of great passion and energy, and an outstanding intellectual who raised the study of sociology to new scholarly heights. He was born in Port Elizabeth, South Africa and joined the Royal Navy aged 18 during World War II.
